Since 2016 BlockInfinity has been dealing with Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT). In numerous pilot projects, especially with reference to the energy industry, in recent years together with well-known energy companies, further knowledge in dealing with DLT and especially decentralized applications in the context of the energy industry has been gained. Within the scope of pilot projects, numerous prototypical market platforms with different functional scopes have been designed, developed and tested. For example, market platforms for the trade of biomethane certificates, the trade of shares in renewable energy (EEG) plants as well as the trade of decentrally generated/consumed energy in a B2B context were tested. The knowledge generated and pre-developed components are to be built on within the framework of flexQgrid.

The initial focus of BlockInfinity is to participate in the conception of a market platform for secondary trading of quotas, especially the development of suitable market mechanisms. Based on the jointly developed concept, BlockInfinity is responsible for the technical software development of the platform. For the implementation Distributed Ledger technologies are to be considered, evaluated and if suitable, applied. By testing the developed market platform within the scope of the field test, the practical feasibility can be verified.
