On Friday, 27 August, the symbolic starting signal was given for the one-year field test. Together, we are investigating during this period how locally generated electricity from renewable energies as well as battery storage and new consumers can be optimally integrated into the electricity grid in Freiamt. Our goal: to avoid congestions in the electricity grid before they occur.

The small on-site event, which could also be joined digitally, was attended by the district administrator of the Emmendingen district, Hanno Hurth, the mayor of Freiamt, Hannelore Reinbold-Mench, and the field test participants. The project team explained in detail to those present what is behind the field test and how it works. The field test is the core of our project. We are very happy to now test these solutions for their suitability for everyday use.
